UNPAB Strengthens Global Partnerships through Educational Collaboration with the Honorary Consulate of Timor-Leste
UNPAB, Medan – 28 July 2026 – Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB) reaffirmed its commitment to internationalization by holding a strategic meeting with the Honorary Consulate of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Medan. The meeting marked an important first step toward establishing a collaborative partnership focused on educational cooperation, international student mobility, and expanding access to higher education for Timorese students. The UNPAB delegation was represented by Reza Juliangga, S.T., M.Sc., Head of Administration and Partnership Sustainability; Soulthan Saladin Batubara, S.E., M.Si., Institutional Planning and Development Advisor; and Muhammad Yalzamul Insan, BIFB (Hons)., M.Si., Head of International Recruitment and Mobility. The Honorary Consulate of Timor-Leste was represented by Mr. Irawan, Honorary Consul of Timor-Leste. The meeting was conducted in a collaborative and constructive atmosphere, with discussions focusing on opportunities to strengthen institutional cooperation and create broader educational opportunities for Timorese citizens. A key agenda was enhancing coordination to facilitate prospective students from Timor-Leste who wish to pursue higher education in Indonesia, particularly at UNPAB.Through this partnership, both parties aim to improve communication, coordination, and the dissemination of information regarding academic opportunities at UNPAB. The collaboration is also expected to serve as a foundation for future international initiatives, including student exchange programs, academic collaboration, joint research projects, and capacity-building activities.During the meeting, the Honorary Consulate expressed its appreciation for UNPAB's initiative and conveyed its commitment to coordinating the proposed collaboration with the Embassy of Timor-Leste and the Education Attaché in Jakarta to support the implementation of future programs. UNPAB Strengthens International Academic Collaboration through Teaching Exchange Program at UiTM Terengganu, Malaysia
Dungun, Terengganu, Malaysia – Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB) continues to expand its internationalization agenda through the implementation of the Teaching Exchange Program at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Terengganu, Kampus Dungun, Malaysia, held from 13–26 June 2026.The program forms part of the strategic academic partnership between UNPAB and UiTM aimed at enhancing international collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and strengthening educational networks between the two institutions. Through this initiative, lecturers from UNPAB were given the opportunity to engage in teaching activities, academic discussions, research networking, and the sharing of best practices in higher education.Representing UNPAB in this program were three distinguished lecturers from different academic disciplines. From the Management Study Program, Dr. Hernawaty, S.E., M.M. and Dr. Slamet Widodo, S.E., M.M. delivered lectures and participated in academic exchanges focusing on management and contemporary business issues. From Mangroves to Melayu Heritage of East Sumatra: UNPAB Unites International Students through GLoPB Program 2026
MEDAN, UNPAB News - Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB) successfully organized the Global Engagement Program (GloPB) 2026 with the theme “Bridging Culture and Nature in East Sumatra: Mangrove Conservation and Malay Local Wisdom.” The program brought together 16 international participants from IIUM, UUM, UiTM, UKM, Krirk University, and Nigeria, creating a meaningful platform for intercultural exchange and academic collaboration.The program was officially opened by Muhammad Yalzamul Insan, BIFB (Hons)., M.Si., Head of International Office UNPAB, representing the Vice Rector for Resources and International Relations. Participants then joined an International Sharing Session moderated by Roisayudha, a Management student at Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB), where representatives from each institution shared insights about campus life, student activities, and academic culture. The session was followed by an academic discussion on mangrove conservation and Malay local wisdom led by Assoc. Prof. Tamaulina, Ph.D.As part of the cultural and environmental immersion, participants visited Masjid Azizi, one of the historical landmarks of the Langkat Sultanate, before continuing to Tangkahan to learn about ecotourism and the conservation of Sumatran elephants. They also explored the importance of mangrove ecosystems at kampung Nipah, Serdang Berdagai in protecting coastlines, supporting biodiversity, absorbing carbon emissions, and sustaining local communities, followed by a visit to the historic Masjid Sulaimaniyah of the Serdang Sultanate.The program concluded with a visit to the iconic Maimoon Palace, where participants were warmly welcomed by Tengku Muhammad Dicky (Tengku Muda Kejeruan Percut) and Yudi Daeng Polewangi (Tok Muda Abisatya Raja). UNPAB Enhances Staff Capacity through International Staff Mobility Program
MEDAN, UNPAB News — Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB), through its International Office, successfully organized the International Staff Mobility (ISM) 2026 program held from February 02–07, 2026. This program reflects UNPAB’s commitment to strengthening institutional internationalization through the development of global networks and the enhancement of international staff capacity.The program was specifically designed for non-academic staff from partner universities, particularly Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), to broaden professional insights, share working experiences, and introduce the international management and service systems implemented at UNPAB. Various activities were conducted throughout the program, including the Opening Ceremony, Campus Tour, visits to several working units at UNPAB, sharing experience and benchmarking sessions, institutional promotion activities, as well as discussions on future international collaboration development.Participants also gained direct exposure to university internationalization management, international student services, institutional branding development, human resource management, and the strengthening of student and academic support services.
